25th. Gaji masuk!
We feel a sense of relief.
But why are we like that?
I've felt it for the longest time. I looked forward to the pay. Somehow, a burden is lifted off my shoulders. But, only to come again later. The cycle continues.
Expenses super tight. If I deduct everything, probably left a few hundred bucks. At least still got a bit of saving lah, but why this feeling?
Then I realized it's the commitments we had. The more we have, the greater sense of relief we get when pay comes in.
So, I started cutting them.
Kiasi, kiasu. I don't know. But, I had insurance to pay. It was a big bulk. So, I stopped some of it. Scary, I know.
I went to the bank and refinanced it. Paid some. Then extended the number of years. Got my loan reduced by half. It was a huge relief.
No more eating out all the time. No more daily Starbucks. No more buffets or unnecessary spending. Got money, I invested in a new skill.
Surprisingly, the sense of relief faded away. Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm still happy to see my bank account numbers go up. Just that, I no longer carry that heavy burden. Got burden, but a lot lighter.
Of course, if we could up our gaji amount lagi bagus. The extra income helps.
How much gaji do you need?
