Time Taken to Write a LinkedIn Post

I take 1 hour.

Sometimes 2, to write a post.

I used to write super fast. I'm able to get a post out in less than 15 minutes.

Nowadays, it's taking me more time than usual. Perhaps, I find syok-ness in self-inflicted pain.

Ideas don't pop by easily as of late.

When I get one, I write kaw-kaw so it's perfect.

I repeat these 10 steps:

  1. Pen my thoughts down.
  2. Squeeze them in 1300 characters.
  3. Delete and write.
  4. Shorten my sentences further.
  5. Remove passive voices.
  6. Replace "you" with "us".
  7. Readout my post loud.
  8. Delete and write again.
  9. Check with Grammarly.
  10. Hit the post button.

Readers don't wanna run a marathon. So, I keep my sentences short.

Instead of writing:
I just got slapped by me (passive).

I replace it with:
I slapped myself (active).

It sounds better. More engaging.

I avoid using "you"s. I don't want it to feel like I'm pointing fingers at you.

Also, I read out aloud. So, it sounds like me. My brain and mouth don't work together sometimes.

I'm prone to grammar mistakes. I check it with Grammarly first loh. It's cheating. But, it's okay. No one knows what.

Before I know it, my morning's gone. And, that's only the beginning. Replying to your comment is what I enjoy the most.

How much time do you take?
