Now, when we consult patients, it ain't the same. Everyone's more aware of their health conditions.

When patients see a doc, they don't come alone. They bring along an arsenal of tools.

1. Dr Google walks in with them.
2. A list of "requested" drugs.
3. The loving They family.

"My sugar is okay as they said..."

"These pills are bad for kidneys as they said..."

Dey. They tu siapa?

Back then, doctors were "Gods".

These docs commanded us.

Take this medication. Oh, okay. No questions asked. So, jadi budak baik ambik je. "Next week, come see me again." Okay, following week go back and see. Donate money despite well already.

Now, things have changed. The newer gen docs are questioned for every move they make. Patients are getting a lot smarter. And some, demanding too.

To tackle these, we have evolved into customer service officers. Goodbye, God-like status.

We've no choice but to improve our communication skills:

1. Speak clearly.
2. Listen attentively.
3. Explain steps 1-by-1.
4. Use no jargons.
5. Have good eye contact.
6. Don't swear.
7. Smile always.

And the list goes on.
