Don't Focus On Selling Only

Don't just focus on services/products.

We've got to build trust too.

How do we sell without selling?

We don't want our readers to think of us as a nuisance. Day in day out we talk about our services or products. I know it's tough to shift our focus away from these. Sales are a lifeline to a business.

However, hard-selling is ineffective as compared to years ago. The trust needs to be present.

Look at it this way.

  • Why do we go back to the same barber?
  • Why do we see the same doctor again?
  • Why do we buy bread from the same roti man?

The keyword here is trust.

A trust has been build between you and the person who is offering the services.

If you also realize, all these don't happen overnight.

It takes a long time to build trust. Therefore, we should start working on it. More so when everyone's stuck at home. Everyone's spending more time on social media. That includes our potential clients too.

I've stopped hard-selling regularly. It didn't work. At least for me. However, building trust did. I've been getting more leads. Albeit not web design services, I got other opportunities.

Besides, building trust gives us a better footing too.
