How to Make a Good LinkedIn Profile

Make your LinkedIn profile sexier.

So enticing others can't resist.

The profile itself is a representation of us. A slacking one might give an impression of how unkempt that person is.

Here are a few tricks:

1. A good headshot photo

Shoulder-up. Not too far. Not too close either. Hair nose should remain hidden.

And remember to smile. Not smirk.

2. Professional background image

Don't use stock photos.

Make a good one with your tagline in it.

3. Creative headline

Handsome engineer. Loud-mouth doctor. Jedi writer. Can, if you dare lah.

It's better than "seeking new opportunities".

4. Showcase your work

Show your artwork, best-written articles, bling-bling photos or even YouTube videos in the featured section.

5. Use a colour theme

I stick with purple in general. When people see purple, they see me (I hope).

Pick a colour to represent you.

6. Tidy-up the experiences

Don't write everything down.

Just relevant ones that make us stand out like a gem.

7. Endorsements

I didn't turn it on earlier. It was a big mistake.

Let others endorse your skills.

8. Recommendations

Personally, this is one of the toughest.

But I'm asking for these this year. It gives our profile a big boost.
