Who wants to sound stupid?
I sure don't.
However, the fear of it stops some of us from interacting. We feel that our thoughts are inferior, but it's not always true. We're just on a different timeline. That doesn't mean we can't voice our opinions.
There will always be someone smarter than us. If we're young, someone older will have more experience. That's life. Even so, don't let that hinder us from sharing our thoughts.
Here are a few tricks I use:
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Be it positive or negative. We should be prepared to receive them with open arms. It's just life with ups and downs. No one has only ups in their lives.
Avoid taking sides. Instead, respond neutrally. Even in a disagreement, state why. It will allow both parties to look at it from a different point of view. Our goal here is not to find fault with one another.
Like many, we have our own set of egos. Let not our ego override our emotions. Be open to new suggestions. If we don't know, we say we don't know. It shows others that we're not arrogant.
It's okay to be fearful. We're humans. However, let it not stop us from moving forward.
Don't you think so?
