Adab kat LinkedIn.
Etiquette. Got or not?
Don't lah end up being "kurang ajar".
I hardly speak on these. After all, it's not a pleasant topic to write. However, a connection asked me to talk about it. As a lady, she felt intimidated to post anything.
Her concerns were valid.
Many guys she connected with asked for personal details soon after. Replying a simple hello comes a barrage of request for phone numbers. She got invited to join other "social" platforms too.
I had another lady who shared with me that a guy stalked her on LinkedIn. Sent her images of herself whom he collected from her social media profiles. Like, seriously?
Now, muka I tak hensem. Yet to have ladies stalk me. I can't say I know how it feels. However, I won't feel safe knowing that would happen to me anytime.
Here are two ways to keep ourselves safe:
Look through a profile thoroughly before accepting a connection request. Scan the activity feed for hanky-panky stuff.
If one is creeping into our personal space, block that person off completely. Better be safe than being harassed.
Let's look out for each other to make this community a safer place.
Adab kena ada. Don't you think?
