Let's talk about the headlines and get your much-needed views. Headlines are what attract a reader's attention. Even if a the post itself has great content, a reader won't read if the headline ain't getting his/her attention.

Here are a few tricks I use regularly.

Seven (7) to be exact.

1. Numbers

We're all attracted to numbers.

Gaji, sales, discounts, scores, etc. As long as there is a number involved, our eyes tend to look at it.

Odd numbers tend to get more attention.

Odd numbers with edges (5 or 7) get even more.

Use them when there is a chance.

For example:

2. Less is More

It works when a headline is short.

Our attention span can fight with a goldfish already.

8 seconds only.

Avoid writing lengthy headlines. Replace a lengthy word with another which is shorter but has similar meaning.

3. Symbols

Hashtag (#), percent (%), plus (+), alias (@), etc.

Similar to numbers, symbols attract our attention too.

Include symbols in a headline too if there is an opportunity.

4. Cliffhanger

Create some form of suspense. We hate suspense and wanna know now wan.

For example:

"I hate money!"

It creates a conflicting interest. Many don't hate money because it provides value. It creates a curiosity of wanting to know what happened that lead to hating money instead.

5. Questions

We can also end a headline with a question too.

As readers right, we'll want to know what's the answer to a question.

This generates an interest for a reader to continue to read a post.

6. Jargons

Don't use them lah. Try to avoid them at all cost.

Use simple language instead.

It has be to easy to read that a preschooler can understand.

A simple tool to check is by using Grammarly. The free version is more than good enough. It will calculate a readability score whether an article or a post is easy to read or not.

7. Value

This is the most important aspect of all.

There has to be value in a post.

Even if one clicks on my post for the first time, may not the second time. Make sure it has value, so people are willing to be "tricked" (subconsciously).

That's because they know they're in for a treat.

So, there. 7 tricks I use on a regular basis to get my needed views.

Which one you're gonna use?
