Why are we on LinkedIn?

Why are we on LinkedIn?

Personally, I used LinkedIn for a specific reason. To get money. However, I realized it's not as easy as I thought.

I'm a nobody. Why would one engage my service when they don't know me in the first place kan? Which made sense also.

Soon after, I moved away from talking about my services. I wrote stories related to my past experience and thoughts. It gained traction and got me a network of helpful individuals.

You know what?

Opportunities started knocking on my door. The weird thing is, I got leads that are totally unrelated to what I do. It ranges from speaking at events, teaching lessons, paid advertising, etc. I pun scratch head on how I should proceed with this.

Of course, I got leads for what I'm good at too.

Some call this personal branding. But, I just wanted people to know about me. So I can earn some side income.

Interestingly, my focus has somehow changed. Now, I'm more into meeting new people. Getting to know them within my network does open new doors indirectly. We don't need to promote our services. They will come eventually.

For those whom I connected with, thank you for allowing me to be part of your network. You have changed my outlook on things. For that, I'm grateful.

So, why do you use LinkedIn?
